Remote working is well supported, with fibre connections reaching most of the area and cafés happy to host a laptop for a morning. Mornings here start slowly — a bakery run, a coffee at the local square — while evenings belong to long dinners outdoors for most of the year. For families, the area offers schools, playgrounds and a safe, community-minded environment where neighbours still know each other. About the area: It is the quietest corner of the island, favoured by buyers looking for authenticity, sunshine and sheltered sandy coves.

Lasithi, the easternmost prefecture of Crete, is known for Agios Nikolaos, the cosmopolitan bay of Elounda and the palm beach of Vai. Running costs remain reasonable for the category, and professional management is available locally for owners who spend part of the year abroad. From an investment standpoint, properties of this profile have shown consistent demand from both end users and holiday-rental operators.
